So, you’ve decided on a sporting event. Even if you are in the very early stages you should come and talk to Diane about training. Whether you are thinking about the London Marathon, climbing Kilimanjaro, or cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats training is essential for your success.
Training with Diane Owen will be approached as follows:
- You tell Diane about your lifestyle and she assesses your fitness in relation to your goal.
- The results are measured against the planned goal and the timescale involved. Getting the timescale wrong can be a costly mistake.
- Diane works with you to establish the preparation needed. This includes the lead-time, the rest periods, and the contingencies for setbacks.
- An individual programme is devised for you that will help you to peak at the right time.
- You also receive advice on the right nutritional programme from Diane as your qualified Sports Nutrition Adviser.
In between sessions Diane will keep in touch with you and give you the motivation and dedication you need to succeed.
Whatever your sporting challenge, Diane will be already excited for you! Most of the big events take place outside and that is where Diane longs to be. So even before you start your training you will see that she is with you in spirit.
Training within the right timescale
As well as getting excited about the sporting event, it will be important to think about achieving the goal within the timescale. The current state of your health and fitness and your motivation are the major considerations. Most things are achievable but sometimes they take longer than we think.
In 2007 Diane trained a local corporate team for an outdoor event in France. The team were very successful due to the training they did, as well as Diane’s experience of the impact of the outdoor conditions. She found it one of the most rewarding pieces of work she has had the pleasure of doing. Diane can draw on many outdoor experiences and prepare you for the unexpected which you and your team might not consider.
Diane loves training people for events, and also loves training for events herself. She did her own London to Paris cycle ride for a special birthday and has plans to do other expeditions in the future. She knows that the key to success in events is down to training within the appropriate timescale. Working with Diane means you too will become fascinated by the preparation involved, the mental attitude required and the need to cope with setbacks. You will enjoy the training as much as the event!
So, say Yes to the dream, and let Diane help you make it a reality.
